Private Client Research

Private Client Research is our internal team of four analysts with over 60 years’ experience (collectively) in research. The individuals on this team have served in various roles including a research director of a 60 person research department, award winning primary analysts following individual companies, a money manager, a Federal Reserve analyst, an investment advisor, and a correspondent research manager. This group is responsible for managing the Equity Income Focus List and is in the process of building out more model portfolios. In addition this group helps our advisors on various topics such as portfolio reviews, opinions on individual positions, advice on proxy/spin off/merger solicitations, and industry knowledge within the 11 sectors of the S&P 500.

JP Morgan’s equity research includes 900-plus analysts and strategists who cover more than 4,200 companies throughout the world’s developed and emerging markets across all industry groups, concentrating on large, small, and mid-cap sectors. Their research analysts study companies’ financial and competitive positions with the goal of providing actionable trade ideas, ratings, and target prices to help clients generate above-market returns. In credit research, JP Morgan analyzes movements and trends in the corporate debt markets.

Credit Suisse’s research team consists of more than 300 analysts covering 3000 companies throughout the world, including almost 1,000 companies in North America in 65 industries. Their value-based approach has helped their focus list consistently outperform the S&P 500 in the past few years. Credit Suisse’s commitment to analyzing companies from all angles makes their research balanced, which benefits our clients. In addition, Credit Suisse publishes unique theme research through its Research Institute and provides a unique valuation tool through its HOLT system.

Morningstar is a high quality source for research on mutual funds, markets, stocks, and ETFs. In addition we have access to Morningstar investment portfolios as well as their library of important educational materials under the Ibbotson name. Morningstar has 110 analysts providing global coverage and provides a fundamental, long-term, bottom-up approach to investment research. In addition, Morningstar uses a star rating approach to stocks and employs a proprietary “moat” rating system to help determine the value of a company. Their long-term valuation analysis is a nice overlay to shorter-term analysis provided by Wall Street research.
