RICHMOND, VA - The Lewis Group of BB&T Scott & Stringfellow is pleased to announce Richard T. Blackwell has joined the team as Vice President and Financial Advisor. With more than 12 years of experience, Rick will be assisting the team with wealth management, maintaining client relationships, and business development efforts.

Rick received his bachelor’s degree in analytical finance from the Wayne Calloway School of Business at Wake Forest University. He holds FINRA Series 7, 9, 10, 31, 66 registrations and a variable life and annuity license. He has also earned the Accredited Asset Management SpecialistSM (AAMS) designation from the College for Financial Planning. Rick served as an officer in the U.S. Army from 2004 to 2012 and received the U.S. Army Bronze Star Medal in 2008 by authorization of the President of the United States for exceptionally meritorious actions in combat. His BB&T awards include Outstanding Achievement by a Financial Advisor, Mid-Atlantic Region in 2013 and the John Sherman Leadership award, which he earned in 2008 and 2013. Currently, Rick serves as the chair of the Central Virginia Community Leadership Board of the American Diabetes Association and has served as co-chair of BB&T Scott & Stringfellow’s CARE Committee. Rick serves on the BB&T Scott & Stringfellow Advisory Board as well as the Scott & Stringfellow Educational Foundation.
